Today I feel like I have been in fancy dress as Angela Chase. I know as a rediscovered style icon she is old news, but with my newly dyed reddish hair, crushed velour leggings, heavy ankle boots, night dress worn as day dress, and oversized maroon cardie I felt I was rockin a bit of that nineties grunge 'tude. I remember when MSCL started on tv and I must have only been 8 or 9 and I thought it was the naughtiest thing - ok not as naughty as I imagined Dirty Dancing to be - wasn't there a fantasy sex scene in a heavenly white bed type setting? All I can remember of it is thinking Angela was obsessed with boys and snogging and sexing, that when she dyed her hair it was really rebellious and wild and of course Jared Leto in all his baby face floppy haired glory. Argh it really made you want to be a teenager, all decadent and tortured and with parents who just don't get you. I have just ordered the DVD so it will be interesting to watch it 15 years later, post my own loss of innocence.
