none more black

My last five clothing purchases have been of black bottom halves; two pairs of trousers, three pairs of leggings. The trousers I needed for my interview (I got the job, by the way) even though they probably won't fit me next week - I have a habit of growing out of Topshop's tiny trousers. The other pair of trousers were a bit of a random bargain purchase from French Connection. They were in the sale and had these cute sort of tie things at the bottom and I had a notion they might also kind of work in summer and I was all flustered and they were non-returnable so I'm stuck with them now (not too begrudgingly) and BIG PLUS they didn't ride up my frou like alll bloody trousers do. I have a long body and short legs. Which leads me on to the leggings. I am not sure whether I will keep them, one pair are sort of crushed velvet look, the other have sort of suedette bits down the sides of the legs and the others have leatherette patches on the knees. The latter pair esp I love, but I don't know if I look like awesome superhero in them or like I'm trying to be a bit edgy but my arse is too fat and my legs are too short. When I try them on with my massive platform boots a good look is created but hello reality am I more likely to wear them with ankle boots, therefore highlighting the big bum. The jury is still out.

Either way I have become seasonally disaffected. I know we are all supposed to be buying like pastels and 'spring' wear but I just wanted to improve on my boring current day to day wear of black leggings. I am having a monochrome moment. My 'Rock 'n' Roll' jumper dress is getting a lot of wear, I have this cute pilgrim style black jumper with a white frill on I am in love with and I keep attempting to wear this jacket with everything :

(Picture from September '09, worn with an old Muse tee, always a bit greeb)

Even my beloved tan ankle boots haven't been out of their box for two weeks, rejected instead for their black counterparts and my black Solea boots. I have even swapped my bag over for a classic black quilt and chain handle jobby. I don't think it is that I am lacking motivation, more that I am favouring comfort and simplicity for a while. Watch this space, I'll be back in head to toe purple again in no time I'm sure...
