turn on, tune in, drop outs

A few months back when our family moved in to a rented house while work was done on our actual house, it was a tiny bit like moving to the past. We had no internet and I had no tv in my room. Post-work relaxation hinged on watching DVDs on the laptop or reading. My brother gave me a disc of episodes of a show called Community, I don't know if its on tv over here yet but if you can wAtch it on surf the channel or one of those sites, you must. This clip doesn't make much sense out of context so I'll try and fill you in. The programme is very post-modern or post-post modern, various references to other tv and film are made all the time but in a very self aware we almost know that we are fictional characters way, which is part one of it brilliance. The references are also so well done that they provide a huge amount of humour, which is part two of the brilliance. In this clip the group of central 'misfit' characters are having a 'Dia de los muertos' ('Spanish Halloween') party with their spanish class and Chevy Chase's Pierce is having a bad trip. The end bit where Abed and Troy have their own little scene ends all the episodes and is pure genius everytime. Oh just watch it okay?

Yesterday I began the move to London. The boyfriend drove me and we got horrendously lost on the way home but I did manage to tune in to this amazing radio station, Absolute Classic Rock which took away some of the pain. Come to think of it, this is the station that Keef from the charity shop was alway telling me to listen to but I wasn't really one for listening to the radio on the internet and didn't have a wireless to pick up on it. I won't get fooled again.

Speaking of move, here is Furr hanging in my wardrobe, "What will you wear today?" What a babe.
