On Saturday I went with a friend to check out the Bermondsey Street Festival. I love going to parts of London I don't normally visit, as I spend most of my time commuting to and from work or at work, I enjoy actually seeing London and getting involved with all the plethora of opportunities this city holds. We took a detour round Borough Market to see how the other 'arf lives, that part of London is undeniably beautiful.
On the way to Bermondsey St we passed a pub holding a vintage and crafts sale so we popped in. The pub is called The Miller on Snowfields Road and they hold this vintage and handmade market the last Saturday of every month. It reminded me of the Oakford Social Club art fair that we used to have a Sue Ryder Vintage stall at a Sunday a month in Reading. Upstairs were sellers of vintage clothes and the stuff was pretty good, and downstairs were stalls of handmade goods, and I was really impressed with some of these stalls! I will definately be going back there between now and Christmas to get some of my presents. The pub alsodoes a night called 'The Face Melter' on the first Saturday of every month, which is a rock, metal and prog night - could be quite good, perhaps I should pay it a visit some time.
One of my favourite stalls was a company called 'Luna on the Moon' who make brilliantly silly headpieces and accessories. They are a bit Katy Perry, but would be cool on someone like my friend Georgie who can pull off a piece of novelty gear
