paisley appreciation society part 5

I got this weird sparkly, paisley bed jacket type thang at Chiswick carboot last year. It was £1. It's great to dress up a vest and jeans. I was wearing it with my formal joggers and my sister called me Aladdin. I'm cool with that. My outfit is weird and apols for the tits but in my defence I had just got back from my holiday.

that is a beautiful cape

This velvet capelet was £1 from Chiswick car boot. It probably needs a steam and my outfit was a bit shit but £1, wow, yeah, impressive huh? #humblebrag

I've been wearing stars a lot lately. I actually had a full on mink velour party dress and sparkly reindeer antlers planned for the night but with various effing and geffing the night got downgraded and I didn't feel that a party dress was appropriate. I managed to cobble together this as a back-up outfit. Pretty similar to the one I wore out last week, woops.

star print top, pleather bottoms, scary lipstick shade, draggy false eyelashes - check, check, check, check.

In other accessorising news, last night I used an old clutch bag of my grandmas and bearing in mind that we went on a Christmas night out to a 1980s theme night I though it was pretty spooky to find these inside...

We partied like it was 1988.

the killer

I picked up this bizarre, sheer-with-shiny-leopard-print-cuffs bedjacket for a pound at Chiswick car boot. Ligthing in my room (AND THE STATE OF IT, soz mum) and my indecision mean I've included a few pics. I like how it has that 1950s via the 1980s vibe, it reminds a bit of the jacket with leopard print collar and cuffs that Jerry Lee Lewis wore when he married his cousin.....

paisley appreciation society part 1

Peggy Lipton

I got my first piece of true brilliant paisley a couple of years ago at a Sue Ryder Nettlebed sale for 50p, it is bright green and I love it - I will blog it when I next wear it (hence this being part 1...). When I went to the Chiswick car boot sale last month I picked up this FANTASTIC, very similar shirt for a fiver:
Pictures can't really do it justice, it has royal blue and yellow details. It looks great worn with jeans and these boots, compadres from the same car boot for £6, sort of Debbie Harry stylee:

And I think it will look good with these platforms (couldn't resist buying them in navy too, if I find a pair of comfy, affordable shoes gotta buy them in every colour). I quite like to pick up on the colours in the print, hence the blue shoes and...

... red lips and yellow nails. I am a bit weird about matching things, although I know that makes me quite unstylish

This is how it fits, nice and baggy and loose. Toilet shot, well what do you expect with these bargain basement prices?

second hand things for six pounds

star print and silver buckles

star print dress was £6 from a charity shop a few months back. The boots were £6 from Chiswick carboot yesterday. I bought a few gems from there but I think the nicest way to show them off will be when I actually wear them. The mirror I used to take the clevage/dirty clothes basket picture was also £6 from a charity shop, bit of fun trivia for you there.
